The State We’re In: Adam Gomez’s Historic Mass. Senate Win

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we look at the historic impact that one local politician is having on the state house.  

In September’s primary election, Springfield City Councilor Adam Gomez defeated incumbent State Senator James Welch of West Springfield. Gomez does not face an opponent in the general election. In November, he will become the first Puerto Rican to be elected to the Massachusetts state senate.
