Former Holyoke Soldiers’ Home Head Speaks Out

Retired Massachusetts Army National Guard Colonel Paul Barabani served as Superintendent of the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home from 2011 until January 2016. While there, Barabani says his calls for additional staff and facility upgrades went largely unfulfilled.  

In the wake of a COVID-19 outbreak that killed at least 76 veterans and infected other residents and staff, he and other members of the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home Coalition, are advocating for some of those same changes. Carrie Saldo spoke with Barabani to learn more.
