The State We’re In: How Did the Conventions Shape the 2020 Race?

The Democratic and Republican National Conventions are over. Now, the race to the political finish line shifts into high gear.  

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s conventions were unlike any other conventions in history. They helped frame the debate for the presidential campaign going forward and drew clear battle lines between Democrats and Republicans.  

John Baick is a professor of History at Western New England University and Paul Robbins is a Consultant at Paul Robbins Associates. Baick and Robbins joined Ray Hershel to breakdown the role of this year’s conventions and talk about the issues President Trump and former Vice President Biden will be focusing on between now and Election Day.
