Unlike their neighbors in Northampton and Easthampton, the residents of South Hadley voted to prohibit the sale of retail marijuana in town. With recreational sales being offered in both places, South Hadley Drug & Alcohol Prevention Coalition coordinator Karen Walsh Pio wants to focus on educating kids about recreational marijuana. Pio says she’s concerned kids haven’t heard enough people say: “stay away from marijuana.” She joins Carrie Saldo in the studio to discuss why and how parents should have these conversations with their kids.
