This week, protesters across the U.S. and here in western Mass took to the streets, calling for racial equality and an end to police brutality.
In Boston, 10th Hampden District State Rep. Carlos Gonzalez, who leads the Black and Latino Caucus, helped organize a march from the historic African American Meeting House to State House. There, a group of federal, state, and local officials observed a moment of silence to honor the life of George Floyd. Floyd died on Memorial Day while in the custody of four Minneapolis police officers.
After the moment of silence, Rep. Gonzalez discussed a new policy agenda that would help prevent police brutality. He joined Carrie Saldo to discuss the policy, the march, and the death of George Floyd.
