The Mount, novelist Edith Wharton’s home in Lenox, is one of only a few National Historic Landmarks dedicated to women. Wharton built the home at the turn of the century as, what The Mount’s Education and Public Programs Co-ordinator, Kelsey Mullen, terms “her dream house”.
(WGBY) Producer Marla Zippay and videographer Mark Langevin recently toured the estate with Mullen, and talked with her about Edith Wharton, how she designed the home, and the restoration effort that turned The Mount into the cultural and educational center it is today.
