Smith has extensive background in the YMCA organization, beginning as a volunteer in Cincinnati and serving most recently as a regional director of five YMCAs in central Florida, Hanmer said. An Army veteran, Smith earned a bachelor of science degree in human services and a master of science degree in management and leadership from Springfield College.
