Over the last two weeks, since George Floyd was killed while in police custody in Minneapolis, Black Lives Matter protests have continued across the country including here in Western New England.

Cities are also speaking out in other ways. In Springfield, the Martin Luther King Jr. Family Services Center commissioned a painted mural called Say Their Names. The mural honors those who have been killed during encounters with polices officers in the last year.

Connecting Point’s Ross Lippman documented the three days it took for the mural to come to life, and how it’s brought a community together during a time of great uncertainty.
