People often take for granted the rich history of their own community. For example, Western Mass—and Springfield in particular—played a significant role in the Underground Railroad. Places we drive by everyday played a part in helping slaves move to freedom. The Pan African Historical Museum USA (PAHMUSA) offers a walking tour complete with costumed characters who tell the amazing stories of people who escaped slavery and those who helped them. LuJuana Hood, Executive Director of PAMUSA, and Gospel Café Director Sam Bradley, one of the tour’s actors, gave Connecting Point a preview of the Springfield Underground Railroad Walking Tour.
