Last year, after two years of increases, opioid overdose deaths in Massachusetts decreased by eight percent. Despite the overall drop, death rates among African Americans and Latinos increased, and it is difficult to tell if addiction rates have improved. Carrie Saldo speaks with Mercy Medical Center opioid addiction expert Dr. Robert Roose to get an opioid epidemic update for western Massachusetts.
