Northampton Mayor David Narkewicz was one of the first political leaders to react to the threat of COVID-19. Narkewicz issued several coronavirus-related executive orders, including declaring a city-wide state of emergency in mid-March, well ahead of state or federal leaders. He is also the highest profile public figure in western Mass to publicly announce that he had COVID-19.
Carrie Saldo spoke with Narkewicz yesterday about how he’s feeling and his thoughts about governing during a pandemic.
