On July 4th, we celebrate the approval of the Declaration of Independence, and the United States’ independence from Great Britain. For some, the significance of the holiday gets lost in barbecues and firework celebrations. But, patriotism is on display each year in Northampton, where new Americans become citizens during the annual July 4th naturalization ceremony.  

Carolee McGrath sat down with Laurie Millman, the director of the Center for New Americans, and Adriana Sarsynski, who will be sworn in as a new citizen on Wednesday, to learn more.
