Pittsfield State Senator Adam Hinds recently riled a bill to a Massachusetts State Recreational office to market recreation in the Commonwealth. Hinds believes increasing the visibility of outdoor activities would be a boost for the western Mass economy. Neighboring states like Vermont and New York have marketed similar activities in their states for years. Eighteen legislators—including State Rep. Natalie Blais—have sponsored the bill. Connecting Point’s Ray Hershel sat down with Senator Hinds and Representative Blais to talk about how a new state recreation office would benefit the local economy.
