Jack Waldheim, JW Handcrafted Guitars: The day I got my first guitar, I got my first job working on guitars. My parents went in and bought a guitar, and — and talked an interview in for me with the business they bought the guitar from.

You know, I started working there at 14 and a half. And worked there for twenty-five years, and I learned a lot about building guitars on my own and — and did repairs for years based on that.

Nick Winnard, Moddjobs/Berkshire Laser Co.: Jack and I worked alongside each other at local music store Wood Brothers Music for 20 years. You know, so we’ve — we’ve been through a lot together, you know, sharing benches and sharing, you know, musical ideas and, you know, things like that.

So, Yeah, he’s — we’ve known each other for feels like forever.

Jack Waldheim: The guy who is operating Shire now used to be involved at the local ski resort with their culinary side and – and I played music for him there. And I used to play at the old ownership downstairs as well.

So that all tied in to be something I do regularly down there now.

Nick Winnard: I helped…you know, Andy over at Berkshire Cat Records did some laser engraved tumblers for him to help promote his business. So, from my perspective, I mean it’s — it’s great. I mean, as you know, we’re walking down the halls, you know, we’re touching base seeing how things are going.

So, you know, maybe my perspective is a little more unique just because I have been involved in assisting, you know, kind of some of the promotion of those things.

But I would say that, you know, that’s one of the things that I enjoy so much about this building, you know, is the fact that there is that kind of built-in community.
