As of March 19, the Massachusetts Department of Health reported 256 cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth. According to the Department of Health’s website, based on updated guidance from the CDC “all confirmed or presumptive cases are now categorized simply as positive.”
Baystate Medical Center has six confirmed cases of COVID-19, according the Baystate Health President & CEO Dr. Mark Keroack. Dr. Keroack says western Mass’s largest healthcare organization is currently working to increase testing capacity. The availability and capacity to test is a challenge for hospitals across the state and country. Carolee McGrath sat down with Dr. Keroack to find out more about the situation and how Baystate is responding to the global coronavirus pandemic.
