After enthusiastic voter turnout in the 2018 midterms, Americans are expected to cast more ballots in 2020 than in any Presidential election in over a century. A recent study from Pew Research Center found that Gen Z’ers, born after 1996, will represent one in ten eligible voters in 2020. And, for the first time, people born after 9/11 will help choose the next president.
But will Gen Z’ers actually vote this November? Which candidates are they supporting? What issues matter to them? Are their views really that different from previous generations?
Zydalis Bauer sits down for one-on-one conversations with first-time voters in Generation Vote, a Connecting Point digital series. From young adults to new US citizens, these Americans ARE voting—and they have something to say about democracy. Look for new conversations all this week at https://nepm.org/generationvote.
