This summer, the Mass. Department of Transportation presented six possible scenarios to extend an East-West Rail link from the Berkshires to Boston. Three of the proposed DOT West-East Rail plans include bus service from stations in the Berkshires to Pittsfield. Legislators in Berkshire County came together to ask the legislature to cut buses from the plan proposals. Two of these legislators, State Rep. John Barrett and State Rep. William “Smitty” Pignatelli sat down with Carrie Saldo to explain why they rallied together to make this ask.
