There’s a new initiative to boost student achievement in school through their involvement in sports. It’s called Scholar Athletes, and the latest zone in Springfield is at Commerce High School. The mission is to support students through athletics, but it is not limited to varsity players. Carolee McGrath sat down with Daphne Griffin of Scholar Athletes, Dwayne Early, the athletic director at Commerce High School, and student Alex Pagan to learn more.
