Many people have a fear of snakes, and now the thought of establishing a conservation for the endangered timber rattlesnake population at a remote island at the Quabbin is making many people uneasy. Tom French, the Assistant Director of MassWildlife’s Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program, joins Carolee McGrath to explain the program and dispel some of the myths.

National Alliance on Mental Illness

N.A.M.I.—the National Alliance on Mental Illness—works to replace those fears with knowledge and understanding. Community Action Youth Conference
On May 14th, Community Action of Franklin, Hampshire, and the North Quabbin Regions is holding their 25th annual Youth Conference. It’s a day-long event at Turners Falls High School in Montague, and Jim Madigan talked with conference organizer Tyanna Normandin for a preview of the event.
