Cancer Support Group

Dr. Jay Burton has a unique perspective on cancer survivorship from both a patient’s and physician’s perspective. As a primary care physician with Springfield Medical Associates, Burton was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in May of 2010 and during his recovery realized the need for improved primary care for all cancer survivors. As a result, the primary care cancer survivorship program was born. Last month, Connecting Point programming intern TJ Hannigan and producer Dave Fraser visited two of the support groups and share this story.
