American Graduate: Brookings School’s 100 Mile Club
The Brookings School in Springfield has a student population that is 98% below the poverty line. The school was hit by a tornado in 2011 and all the students were displaced into modular buildings. Today, the school’s been rebuilt and the 100 Mile Club was started to increase school attendance, and increase physical fitness. Kids at the school now begin their day on “the right foot”…..literally, tying up their sneakers and getting ready to take part in The 100 Mile Club. CISA: Maple Sugaring
Maple sugaring is a time honored tradition that spans centuries in New England. On average it takes 40 gallons of sap to yield one gallon of maple syrup and the season only lasts about 4-6 weeks. CISA Executive Director Phil Korman visits two local farms that are in the throes of the maple sugaring season: the North Hadley Sugar Shack and Mayval Farm in Westhampton.

Power House Training
Jon Davis holds a degree in Applied Exercise Science from Springfield College and has been running his own performance/fitness business since 2006. He played baseball at Cathedral High School and now, in his business, prepares young athletes for the “next level”. He currently has several major league baseball prospects training at his gym.
