Martha Fuentes-Bautista, assistant professor of communication at UMass Amherst, explains in plain detail what exactly this means to the average internet user and one of her students Eric Smith talks about how this will specifically impact the youth who are used to a very internet infused life. Professor Fuentes-Bautista also heard about some questions and concerns that Connecting Point viewers had.

Weight Loss Surgery

More than one third of US adults are obese. That’s according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And a small minority of adults and now teenagers are taking matters into doctor’s hands and opting for weight loss surgery. On Monday, March 24th at 10pm, Independent Lens will run a documentary titled “All of Me: A Story of Love, Loss and Last Resorts” about a group of friends who opted for this way of losing weight Dr. John Romanelli, medical director of weight loss surgery at Baystate Health joins me to discuss this.
