School Choice
National School Choice Week (@schoolchoicewk) is January 26th to February 1st and highlights the different schooling options available. It includes the popular public and private options, but we are going to learn about lesser known ones such as homeschooling, school choice, and charter schools.
Huda Alawa is representing the homeschool angle, SABIS in Springfield is representing the charter angle, and Jamie Gass from Pioneer Institute is representing the overall school choice position.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio
On January 27, PBS will run an independent lens documentary titled the state of Arizona about the controversial SB 1070 law that was enacted in the state of Arizona …also commonly called the “show me your papers” law. While the documentary focuses on the push by senator Russell Pierce for this legislation, probably the most famous figure in Arizona’s fight for immigration reform is sheriff Joe Arpaio. He joins me by telephone to talk about what makes him such a beloved and hated figure in this country regarding this topic and answer some questions our viewers had for him.
