Red Cross Disaster Kit

American Red Cross representatives Lisa Ducharme, Pillowcase Project Coordinator, and Jane Robinson, Pillowcase Project Presenter, explain the Pillowcase Project. The Pillowcase Project focuses on teaching 8 to 11 year old children how to be prepared for and how to cope with emergency situations in this program created in Louisiana in 2005 in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

 

Berkshire Innovation Center

Described as a “game changer” for the region by Pittsfield Mayor Daniel Bianchi, The Berkshire Innovation Center will offer technical and equipment resources for small manufacturers and collaborative opportunities for companies of all sizes. The proposed 9.7 million dollar complex, which will be housed at Pittsfield’s William Stanley Business Park, is designed to make the Berkshires a competitor in Massachusetts’s burgeoning Biotech industries by offering high-tech learning, research, and business opportunities to local schools, students, and businesses.
