Mini-Medical School for Teens & Adults

Dr. Peter Blain from Baystate Medical Center is the director of Baystate Springfield Educational Partnership (BSEP). BSEP helps Springfield-area kids prepare themselves for a possible future in health care. As part of the program, students focus on: career exploration and preparation, academic and employment skills, and the Teen Mini Medical School. Suzanne Hendery, Vice President, Marketing & Communications, will join Dr. Blain to discuss the Adult Mini-Medical School program she heads up for adults to learn more about health care. The goal of this program is to help members of the public make more informed decisions about all aspects of their health care while receiving insight on what it’s like to be a medical student.

Northampton First Night Celebration

Penny Burke, Executive Director of the Center for the Arts and the producer of First Night, gives details about Northampton’s 29th First Night. First Night is a 12-hour, family-friendly festival of the arts that includes an astounding array of entertainment presented by hundreds of talented performers at 22 downtown venues. Highlights include a fireworks display from the roof of the city’s parking garage at 6:15 pm and a traditional ball-raising from the roof of the Hotel Northampton at midnight.
