Nick & Kory Behrens grew up around wood; their father is a woodworker and builds custom homes. The brothers took that foundation and turned it into a business, Behrens Boards, hand-crafting kitchen cutting boards in the basement of their parents’ home. The pair sat down with Connecting Point contributing producer Marla Zippay & videographer Mark Langevin to talk about the process and their partnerships with other local artists as well as the organization, Trees for the Future.

Springfield Graduation Rates

There has been a lot of focus over the years on improving graduation rates in Massachusetts cities, including Springfield. In the last few years, Springfield has made significant improvements, decreasing the dropout rate and increasing the graduation rate over last year by 5 points to 66.7% overall. Carolee McGrath sat down with Springfield School Superintendent Daniel Warwick to find out what the district has been doing to ensure students for success.
