In 1934, fourteen years before Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball, Springfield’s own post 21 American Legion Baseball team made history by standing up to racism in support of teammate Bunny Taliaferro. Producer Keith Clark sat down with author Richard Anderson and Post 21 team captain Tony King (now 98 years old), as they discuss this important moment in Springfield’s history – an act of brotherhood and an exemplary display of what it means to be a teammate.
