Maple sugaring is a time honored tradition that spans centuries in New England. On average it takes 40 gallons of sap to yield one gallon of maple syrup and the season only lasts about 4-6 weeks. CISA Executive Director Phil Korman visits two local farms that are in the throes of the maple sugaring season: the North Hadley Sugar Shack and Mayval Farm in Westhampton.
