Right now, orchards across New England usually begin gearing up for harvest season. But, 2020 has been anything but normal. 

After the state declared an emergency to combat the novel coronavirus, farms and orchards were faced with the challenges of just surviving, never mind being concerned about the late summer harvest. 

Apex Orchards in Shelburne, Massachusetts has been producing fruit since 1828. Connecting Point’s Brian Sullivan visited the legacy orchard to see how they’ve navigated their way through these troubled times. While there, he discovered the farm appears to be right on track for the upcoming pick-your-own fruit season.
