Lower Pioneer Valley Early Learning Center
Lower Pioneer Valley Early Learning Center (LPVELC) is a childcare facility at the Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative, a vocational school that provides career and technical education to high school students. The LPV Early Learning Center is the first multi-age early childhood classroom in Western Massachusetts, where kids from 6 weeks to 6 years old are not separated into age-based classrooms, a benefit for children going through separation anxiety or a stressful time who need to be around their siblings.
Mary Beth Fleury, the director of the LPV Early Learning Center, and Kristina Juzyn, an Early Education and Care Instructor, explain to us how this combination of child care & vocational training is a unique opportunity for students.
