Those with developmental disabilities have the highest rate of unemployment out of any group in the United States– it’s at 80%! Allied Rehab Centers, a private non-profit organization in north central Connecticut, has been serving individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities and those with brain injuries. Melissa Trzepacz, Director of Employment Services and Michael Eugenio, Employment Coordinator at Allied Rehab Centers talk about helping these people get jobs that are geared to helping them lead productive lives. They also run two micro businesses that employ these challenged people so they can have a job.
