Doctor Shortage
Dr. Scott Wolf from Mercy Medical Center talks about a recent Massachusetts Medical Society study that said there is a shortage of doctors in western Massachusetts, with Berkshire County being hit particularly hard. He also discusses the challenges in attracting doctors to Western Massachusetts, when many find it more appealing to work in Boston. The doctor shortage increases wait time for patients to see their doctors and causes emergency room congestion.
