Springside House is a Pittsfield landmark, a “house on the hill” serving as a reminder to all who pass by or who visit Springside Park of the city’s past and its glory days. Formerly the home of a prominent Pittsfield businessman, the house passed through several hands before becoming the hub of the city’s Parks and Recreation Department. Eventually falling into disrepair, a movement is currently underway to restore the house to its former glory with the help of a grant from the state. City Mayor Daniel Bianchi, Parks Dept. Manager Jim McGrath, and local historian Joe Durwin explore the past, present and future of Springside House with Producer Tony Dunne and Videographer Mark Langevin.
