Steve Strimer, committee member of the Sojourner Truth Memorial, will take us through Sojourner Truth’s experience as a free slave, abolitionist and women’s right advocate in Florence, MA at David Ruggles Center for Early Florence History and Underground Railroad Studies. Carol Rinehart, committee member of the Sojourner Truth Memorial will talk to us about the Sojourner Truth Scholarship which is awarded to two high school seniors from local high schools. These scholarships are awarded to students who display in an essay their experience and dedication to equality and social justice.
