State Senator Eric Lesser weighs in on the latest developments in Massachusetts’ fight against the coronavirus. The Baker administration recently announced that eight new sites would be offering free COVID-19 testing for any state resident through August 14th. However, none of the eight host sites are in western Massachusetts. Senator Lesser is one of several western Mass legislators calling for a free testing site in the area.
Lesser also discusses the controversial police reform bill approved by the Massachusetts Senate earlier this week. Critics have called the proposed bill — written in the wake of protests calling for racial equality and an end to brute force used by some officers — rushed. While it’s not perfect, Lesser believes the bill is a move in the right direction.
