The first official day of summer may still be a few days away, but the city of Westfield helped ring in the new season a bit early when they unveiled western Massachusetts’ newest sports franchise. The Westfield Starfires are the newest team in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, a summer baseball league with teams in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. Connecting Point‘s Brian Sullivan stopped by Bullens Field for the team’s home opener.
