Rural school districts in Massachusetts are asking the state to increase funding this year. Though enrollment has fallen in rural areas, fixed costs – such as transportation — have not. The Massachusetts Rural Schools Coalition visited the State House recently to urge lawmakers to act. Carolee McGrath sat down with Michael Buoniconti, Superintendent of both Mohawk Trail Regional School District and Hawlemont School District, to find out more.
