It’s been five years since a judge vacated the murder conviction of Mark Schand. Schand spent twenty-seven years behind bars for a murder he didn’t commit. Now out of prison, Schand now runs a smoothie café in Connecticut called Sweetwater. New England Public Radio Senior Reporter Karen Brown has reported on Schand’s case for years. Brown spoke with Carrie Saldo about the injustices Schand has endured since being released after his wrongful conviction and how he is adjusting to civilian life.
