Transportation has been a focus point of Massachusetts news recently, with stories about the Mass DOT I-91 Study and the East-West Rail Study. The Department of Transportation (Mass DOT) recently completed its years-long study of I-91 in western Massachusetts. The study found it is unlikely the portion of I-91 that runs through Springfield will be placed underground. Massachusetts has also taken steps to start an in-depth study of East-West rail service, linking Springfield and Boston. Carrie Saldo sat down with Tim Brennan, Executive Director of the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, to discuss the latest transportation developments.
