The idea of building an East-West high-speed rail linking Springfield to Boston has been around for some time, and the Massachusetts legislature recently approved an East-West Rail Feasibility study.  

In a recent meeting with the editors and reporters of The Republican & Masslive, Governor Charlie Baker did not sound optimistic about the future of the project, according to a report from The Republican. But Senator Eric Lesser remains hopeful and is pleased that the Mass DOT will do a feasibility study on the issue.
