At the end of 2017, the US Congress made sweeping changes to the United States tax code, including a tax cut for corporations. Known as the “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act,” the new law drew criticism from lawmakers and citizens for adding at least a trillion dollars to the nation’s deficit over the next decade.
