Chef Brian Alberg is a staunch supporter of the local food movement in the Berkshires. As Executive Chef at the Red Lion Inn and VP of Culinary Development of Main Street Hospitality Group, he has established strong relationships with regional farmers and food producers and purchases more than $650,000 in local foods annually.  Working in partnership with owners David and Laurie Tierney, Alberg’s current venture with Main Street is helping to develop the new boutique hotel and restaurant in downtown Pittsfield called Hotel on North. Connecting Point producer Dave Fraser along with Berkshire Farm & Table Executive Director Angela Cardinali visited Alberg to learn more about the historic Hotel, the Restaurant and Main Street’s continued commitment to local agriculture.
