Mark Schand’s Story After 27 years in prison, Mark Schand was released after being convicted and sentenced to life without parole for a murder in Springfield that we now know he didn’t commit. After Centurion Ministries was able to prove his innocence, Schand was released on October 4, 2013, and the prosecution dismissed the charges on October 16. He is joined by his wife Mya who stuck by his side on the other side of the bars.
