The elderly and the formerly incarcerated—those two groups don’t immediately have an obvious connection. But, the two groups have more in common that one might think. Like the elderly, the formerly incarcerated often find themselves pushed to the background of society. Northampton-based Young@Heart Chorus is made up of people 70 years or older who have a passion for music. That passion inspired two individuals who saw the chorus perform at the prison while incarcerated. This shared passion forged an unlikely bond between the senior singers, rapper Phillip Ragland & blue guitarist and singer Dakota Fogg. Connecting Point‘s Summer Kaeppel and Dave Fraser show us the amazing results that collaboration through music and soul can have.
